Generate custom speed and power test grids for laser cutting & engraving, with a LightBurn file that has the settings built in.
Engrave fills each swatch; Cut draws an outline so you can check through-cut and kerf. Switching mode rescales speed by 10× (cutting runs slower).
Size and finishing of the test card.
Percent of laser power across the card.
6 × 4 = 24 swatches. LightBurn gives each swatch its own layer, so the grid can have at most 28 (e.g. 7×4, 6×4 or 5×5).
Max 12 values per axis.
6 × 4 = 24 swatches. LightBurn gives each swatch its own layer, so the grid can have at most 28 (e.g. 7×4, 6×4 or 5×5).
Indexed: every swatch gets its own LightBurn layer, so speed and power can be set per swatch. Up to 28 swatches (e.g. 7×4, 6×4 or 5×5). Monochrome: any size, one layer.
Choose the origin your laser is set to in LightBurn (Edit → Device Settings → Origin). If it doesn't match, the design opens flipped.
The LightBurn file includes the labels and logo and sets each swatch's speed and power on its own layer, ready to run. It needs the LightBurn Indexed colour scheme. The card outline keeps LightBurn's default cut settings, so set the outline cut for your material.
Power and speed values depend on your machine, lens and material. Always test on scrap.
